We hope everyone had a great break. Rostrum TV is taking a breather today, but we’ll be back tomorrow. Teachers, please read your homerooms these announcements:

The West Haven International Club will meet on Monday, November 29th directly after school in D209. We will welcome Mrs. Osman who will talk about the country of Sudan in Northern Africa. All are welcome!

The Class of 2025 Council will meet December 1st immediately after school in the Library Conference Room. New members welcome. See Mrs. W. in the Library or Mr. Dickson in the Science Office if you would like to join but cannot attend.

The Muslim Student Association is a club that joins together anyone who wants to learn more about Islam. People of all faiths are welcome! Our first meeting is Thursday December 2nd in F314.

The chess club and the chess team meet each Monday and Wednesday after school with Mr. Schevling in room D213.

Attention student athletes: Please tell your parents there will be an informational meeting for the PARENTS of winter sports athletes on Tuesday, December 7th at 7 pm in the auditorium.

Please donate canned food items to help needy families in West Haven. Items can be brought to in Room F-303. Teachers who want to keep a box for the cans in their classrooms can email Mr. Consorte.

The Creative Writing Club will meet after school on Wednesday 12/1 after school with Mrs. Ficaro in room D114.

Are you struggling in your Algebra 1 or Geometry class? Try attending Math Boot Camp. Math Boot Camp meets on Thursdays from 1:45 to 3:00 in room D308. The next Math Boot Camp will be held on Thursday December 2nd.

WHHS will be hosting a talent show on December 10th from 2pm – 5pm in the auditorium. Tickets are being sold by Ms. McCauley in room F219 for $3 each. Everyone is encouraged to sign up to participate in the talent show, even teachers. Sign up by scanning the QR code on one of the flyers posted around the school. The deadline is December 1st.

The WHHS Career Center is excited to announce that we have a special program for any students interested in pursuing a career in Electrical, Plumbing, Heating and Cooling or Sheet Metal. We have a special scholarship that will allow you to take courses leading to your certification. You can take a course at Eli Whitney beginning in January. Classes are one night a week in the evening. If transportation is an issue we can help! If interested you must complete the Powerschool form “Eli Whitney-WHHS Certification Courses” If you have questions, email Mrs. Kachmar @ deborah.kachmar@whschools.org. Spaces are limited.

Attention Seniors: your last opportunity to have your senior portraits taken is here. Legacy Studios will be at WHHS December 6, 7, 8 , 9 and 10. These are the LAST DATES, they will be at the school. There are also Saturday appointments available at the studio in Cheshire. They have time slots available November 20th and 27th. To book appointments, go onto the CLASS of 2022 Google Classroom. If you are a senior and didn’t get an invite, email Mr. DeBiase or Mrs. Lucibelli to send you an invite. REMEMBER: We do not use ID photos in the yearbook, you must have your senior portraits done by Legacy Studios to be in the yearbook and you need to book an appointment to have your Senior Portraits taken. The cost is for the sitting fee, not the actual pictures.
