The debate team had a great turnout in a tournament at Yale University last Friday. Senior Lauren Paulemon and junior Ada Akdag won first place in the varsity team division. And in the individual varsity awards, Lauren won first place and Ada won second place.
There were three rounds and the debate topics included: the benefits of public schools versus private schools, the moral dilemmas inherent in technological advancements, and the pros and cons of digital surveillance in schools.
