The 2022/23 schedule has been announced for the West Haven Co-op hockey team as the winter sports season approaches. The West Haven based team will be co-opping with three different towns (Oxford, Seymour and Shelton) due to a lack of returning players. Rosters have not been announced, but it is expected that there will be at least 10-11 returning players for the season with not one being at the senior level.
The schedule features teams from different levels and divisions with home games still played at Bennett Rink. One of the biggest notables on the schedule is marked for Saturday, February 4th, 2023, as West Haven takes on an out of state team. The team is sat 239-miles away, just over a 4-hour drive. The team is from St. Dominic Regional, located in Auburn, Maine.
The last time West Haven faced an out of state team in the regular season came back in the 2016/17 season where the Blue Devils faced the Scarsdale Raiders (Scarsdale, NY).
This will undoubtedly be a truly historic season for West Haven hockey as we will see new players, strategies and teams.

St. Dom’s and old Westies rival during the New England Tourneys held in the old Providence Auditorium…..the last time they faced St. Dom’s was mid ’50s
This team I’m sure is still a Maine powerhouse with the Lewsiston Blue Devils.
Many of the players over the years are of French-Canadien origin.
Good Luck WESTIES…..
