West Haven High School’s morning news show, Rostrum TV, is looking for anchors for the 2024-25 school year.

Ideal candidates are charismatic, reliable, easy going and very good at reading out loud.

If selected, you will periodically be contacted to come anchor the news show. We will only ask you to come down during your study halls or during homeroom. Anchoring the news takes about 20 minutes, but after you get more experience, we can get you in and out of the studio in about 10 minutes.

This job is fun and looks great on college applications.

Are you still interested? Here’s what you should do:

1. Fill in this application.

2. Practice anchoring by pasting this script into an online teleprompter like this one or this one.

3. Come to an audition. Swing by F116 during period 1 or period 2 any day. We’ll also be holding auditions all day on Monday, May 28th. When you come audition, we’ll put the script you’ve been practicing on the teleprompter, and we’ll record you reading the script. Then we will give another script that you haven’t seen before to see how you do with reading something that’s new to you.

4. Wait to hear from us! We’ll email you with our decision by June 5.
