Did you know that you could go to college for free for the first two years?
The PACT program, which stands for Pledge to Advance Connecticut, guarantees free admission to any Connecticut resident for an in-state community college.
Students don’t have to pay tuition, extension fees, college service fees, student activity fees, transportation fees or mandatory usage fees.
There are some requirements that must be met in order to become eligible for this program.
One, students must be an in-state resident of Connecticut to apply.
Two, all four years of high school must be completed and students must graduate from a Connecticut high school or an equivalency.
Three, students must enroll as a part-time student with 6 or more credits or a full time student as a first-time undergraduate. Any students who have enrolled at any other college or university are ineligible for this program.
Four, students must maintain good academic standing.
And finally, students must complete FAFSA to show that they are eligible for this program.
If you complete your first two years at community college and then decide to spend the other two years of college at a four-year university, your certificate will show that you are a graduate of that university.
