Last Friday students from the Criminal Justice Cohort traveled to the State Police Academy in Meriden to participate in the state’s first Law Enforcement Job Fair. Our students had the chance to tour the police academy.
Then students had the opportunity to speak to the many law enforcement professionals from across the state.
Many towns are seeking to hire police officers and our students had the chance to hear about their first hand experiences.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for our students to meet Governor Ned Lamont.
The governor was excited that our high school students were already considering a future in law enforcement and criminal justice.
Our criminal justice cohort was invited to participate in this event by State Commissioner of Public Safety, Ronnell Higgins and we hope to participate in this event again next year.
Here is a cool video of Mrs. Ficaro and students from the criminal justice cohort talking with the governor.
