Mrs. Suraci was a life-long Westie who passed away on July 4th after a long battle with breast cancer.
She taught in our school system for four decades and raised her own family right here in West Haven.
“One of the things she really loved to do was to create art displays that kind of pulled everyone in and made everyone want to stop and see and connect the school community,” said Jennifer Lucibelli, a current art teacher and Deb Suraci’s sister.
She ensured that her classroom was a safe place for students and their creativity. One of her favorite tasks as an art teacher was creating art displays to show her students’ work.
Her family tells us that Mrs. Suraci would be happy to know a space in her honor will be housed at her home away from home, West Haven High School.
If you would like to donate, Venmo the address you see here, or drop off cash or a check to Mrs. Lucibelli in H209.
