There will be a student-teacher basketball tournament in the gym during the last block today.
There will be a Winter Pep Rally on Thursday December 12 during long block in the gym! Tickets are $3–you must have a ticket to enter.
There will be games, contests and events for the crowd to participate in and win prizes. Free merch will be thrown out to the crowd and DJ Sully will be Dj’ing. Tickets will be sold from December 2nd to December 11th in Mrs. Moriarty’s room, which is H215.
The Debate Team meets Fridays after school in Room C-206. All new and returning team members are welcome. The Debate Team is coached by members of the Yale University Debate Team and offers an opportunity to improve your speaking skills, meet new people, and have fun competing against students from nearby high schools at monthly tournaments on the Yale campus.
HOSA, the club for future health professionals, meets every Monday In room F119 after school. All are welcome.
The Rostrum meetings are on Mondays in F116. Come on by if you want to join our school news team.
Attention Seniors – If you have not had your senior portrait taken with Legacy yet, please sign up for a time slot outside the main office. The signup sheet will be there all day this week. Legacy will be here December 2nd to December 6th from 8 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. Each session will be 15 minutes.
The annual Powder Puff game will be on November 27th during the long block. The 9th grade will be playing the 11th grade and the 10th grade will be playing the 12th grade. Then the two winners play for the championship. Tickets will be on sale outside of the cafe until the day of the game and are $2 each. If you go outside for the game. You will not be allowed to reenter the building, so dress warm!
Mr. Cook is recruiting students to help him with a study he’s doing to get his doctorate. The name of his study is “Multiracial Identity Development in High School.” To participate, you must have parents of different races. Please see Mr. Cook in the gym or athletic office.
The Student Government and band are joining forces to organize the WHEAT Canned Food Drive. There will be boxes all over school for you to put your donations in. WHEAT is a local food pantry that has served needy families in the city since 1975. Their website currently asks for all non-perishable food items, especially canned goods, tuna fish, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, soup, and pasta. Please consider helping the WHEAT Canned Food Drive this year.
The junior class is sponsoring a T-shirt war. Get apparel to support your favorite class at our school. Stop by D210 or D216 to make a purchase.
