Congratulations to the football players named to the New Haven Register’s All-State Connecticut High School Football First Team.
Kadear Dembele was named to the all-state first team and named player of the year. GameTime said Dembele had 74 tackles, 38 of which were solo tackles, including 15.5 sacks. Kadear will be playing at Wake Forest next year.
Nick Conlan was named all-star quarterback. GameTime said Nick “led West Haven to back-to-back Class double L championship games as a junior and senior. He finished his senior season having completed 113-of-219 passes for 23 touchdowns.”
Also congratulations to offensive lineman Brian Oliver for making it to the Register’s all-state third team.
This year the football team made it to the Class LL State Championships. The Blue Devils lost to Greenwich in that game, with a final score of 14 to 0.
