Tryouts for all spring sports are on March 22nd. All athletes must register on Final Forms to tryout. You must have an updated physical.
Here’s more information about baseball tryouts, which will be on March 22nd. Weather will determine the time of day and location of the tryouts. Any boy who wants to tryout must be registered in final forms. Information on final forms can be found in the athletic office. The team is holding weekly captains practices on Sundays at 5:30 p.m. in the gym. Please contact Coach Carden, Coach Brown, or Coach Jefferson if you have any questions.
Academic Integrity club meetings are on Thursdays in D317. New members are welcome! AIC is a group of students dedicated to promoting academic honesty and ethical conduct. It provides a democratic forum for students to discuss academic integrity and review the current school policy.
If you’re interested in the environment, then the Grass Roots Action Club is for you. The GRAC club meets every other Wednesday in F214. The next meeting is today.
Letter with Love will be meeting in D107 on Wednesday. The club will be writing sympathy letters to Will Millet’s mother. See Mrs. Plumey with any questions.
Student Government Interact meets on Wednesdays in C206. S.G.I. Is the vehicle for students to make their school a better place via policy changes, community service, or fun fundraisers. All new and returning members are welcome and encouraged to attend!
The next meeting of the True Crime Club will be on Wednesday, March 12 after school in D114 with Mrs. Ficaro.
The first meeting of the UNICEF Club will be on Thursday, March 20th in room C202 with Ms. Goodwin. This club is for anyone who is interested in helping children in need across the globe. The club is currently accepting applications for club officers.
This is your last week to purchase cap & gown. Cost is 40 dollars cash. Bring your money to Ms. Corrado in the main office. If you do not purchase a cap and gown, you will not be able to participate in the ceremony.
The SADD Club and Morgan’s Message, along with some help from the math department, will be celebrating Pi Day on March 14th. Classes will be visiting the main lobby to participate in the celebration. Snacks and activities will be available ranging from $1 to $5. All money raised will go towards charity and Senior Scholarships. We hope most of you will be able to stop by and participate for a few minutes on the 14th of March!!
Attention all poets: the Connecticut Poetry Society has an annual contest for high school students. It is free to enter and the winners receive cash prizes. The deadline to enter is March 15th.
The last Seal of Biliteracy test for this school year will be on March 20. SENIORS can take the test in one of the languages you see here. The deadline to sign up is March 12. West Whims is now accepting submissions. Students can submit short stories, poems and writing to Mr. DeBiase or Mrs. Lucibelli via Google mail. The deadline is March 28th.
The West Haven High School Theatre Workshop will be presenting “The Addams Family” on March 27th to 29th . Follow this QR code to buy tickets. Come see this hilarious musical that follows your favorite characters on a new adventure!
Are you interested in being the next Mr. Westie? This year, registration is open to all classes, though seniors are preferred.. The senior who is crowned Mr. Westie will receive a free prom ticket for both him and his date. If a non-senior wins, he will receive $100 in cash. Reach out to class officers Carmella Ruiz, Amanda Fagnani, or Natalie Gallo if you’re interested in signing up. Or you can use the QR code on screen. Registration is due by March 21st. The show is on April 11th, last block.
The Class of 2028 is having a blanket fundraiser. These extra large blankets are only 30 dollars each. The sale ends on March 30th. Please support the Class of 2028!
The Class of 2025 is selling Lucky Ducks. It’s $1 for one duck or $2 for three ducks. Send some luck to your friend this St. Patrick’s Day. The ducks will be delivered on March 17th.
Senior shirts are now on sale! Designed by the Class of 2025 Council, t-shirts are $15 CASH ONLY. You can buy them in the library any period except 6th.
