The varsity football team has a home game today at 6 pm against Amity. The team, along with the band, cheer and dance teams, will be celebrating senior night. Congrats to all the seniors!
This year, the seniors have been instrumental in the wins for West Haven. In this video, safety Connor Oksenberg, had a fumble recovery to cause a turnover after the defensive line, including seniors, Jeffrey Walker and Erron Nelson, put pressure on the running back.
Amir Daniley has averaged around 100 yards rushing per game. In the video, there is a 60-yard run that Daniley had with great blocking from guard and tackle, Abraham Morales.
Trew Kitson has had an amazing year. In the highlight video, Kitson catches a 36-yard touchdown.
Captain Yusef Turner was named an Orb Sport Scholar Athlete. He has had multiple tackles and pressures this season.
Wide receiver, Aaron Johnson added to his great season with the diving touchdown reception you’ll see in the video.
Defensive end Kam Walker has had over four sacks this season. In the video, you’ll see him force and recover a fumble from the quarterback.
Aside from honoring all these impressive seniors. we want to take a moment to remember Chris Fidalgo, a member of the football team who died in 2023. Chris would have been celebrating his senior night with the team tonight. We are sending our love to Chris’ family and friends.
